Ruth and I have been thinking a lot about whether to host the Bible study this coming Thursday (4/2/20) in light of Corona virus precautions. Let's cancel this one and then see if the restrictions and threat are less by 4/16/20.
But, not to miss out on an opportunity to hand out an assignment, here it is. At our last meeting we started to look at dozens of passages which give us clues about what saints and sinners look like and several warnings regarding false teachers. Here's a link to the file I was working with while we looked at the first batch of verses. There are 44 more sets of verses to go. If you do two or three a day you can continue to fill in the characteristics of each in their columns and be done by our next meeting. The end goal then will be to get a fuller picture of each type of person so that we can grow in our own confidence of who we are and take care to watch out for those who would lead us astray. For those who were not at the last meeting, take a look. I think the chart should be self explanatory but feel free to call or text or e-mail me if you don't understand what to fill in on the chart. It's an Excel file. If you need it in Word or some other format, let me know.

The question for next time is: Of which New Testament church was Philemon a part? To find the answer read Galatians, Ephesians, Philippians, Colossians and Philemon and then do a little “math.” (Your hint then is that Philemon did not belong to the churches at Corinth or Thessalonica.)
Here are my notes from the last three weeks. If something I said didn't quite make sense, I'd encourage you to check my notes. There's more there than we talked about and I think I sometimes make more sense when I write than when I speak.
Here are the trustworthy sayings, hymns and creeds passages I found.
Here is another nicely formatted rendition of the creeds found in the New Testament.
